Culturally responsive teaching recognizes and respects the diverse cultural backgrounds of students, incorporating their cultural experiences and perspectives into the curriculum to enhance learning and promote inclusivity. All events are in the Graduate Center for Excellence unless otherwise stated.

Culturally Responsive Teaching Refresher
9 a.m. to Noon

Leverage existing educational theory and conecpts to explore how experiences in the classroom impact students inside and outside the classroom.

Challenging Assumptions
1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Collaboratively examine existing assumptions for the learning objectives, content, and overall curriculum design in our programs' courses and consider ways in which we can engage with culturally responsive pedagogies to test those assumptions and refine our courses.

Moving from Deficits to Assets

Apply principles from these workshops to an assignment or syllabus you are developing with support from one-on-one and small-group consulting and coaching. Existing teams are welcome and partnerships that include students are encouraged!
