Alicia Robb, Founder and CEO of Next Wave Impact, is this spring's Lin Great Speakers Series guest lecturer. Robb's presentation is made in conjunction with the 2019 Conference on Justice and Social Concerns whose theme is Social Justice, Economic Equity and the Role of Business Leading the Change.
Robb is a visiting scholar with the University of Colorado at Boulder and the Federal Reserve Bank at Atlanta. She was previously a senior fellow with the Kauffman Foundation for more than a decade and currently does economic consulting for a variety of public and private entities. She is also the founder and past executive director and board chair of the Foundation for Sustainable Development, an international development organization working in Latin America, Africa and India.
Robb is a prolific author on the topics of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial finance. In addition to dozens of journal articles and book chapters, she is the co-author of six books, including Race and Entrepreneurial Success, A Rising Tide: Financing Strategies for Women-Owned Businesses and The Next Wave: Financing Women's Growth Oriented Firms.
In the two-day Conference on Justice and Social Concerns, experts in both academic and practical realms will come together to lead our campus in dialogue around issues challenging our community locally and globally. This year, the St. Mary’s University Greehey School of Business is hosting the conference.
