How do two goddesses whose tale begins in kidnaping and sorrow end up with widespread devotion and control over the underworld? Come learn the stories of Demeter and Persephone, mother and daughter who persisted in their efforts to be reunited, and Greek goddesses whose worshipers were guaranteed the reward of a happy afterlife.

Join us on Tuesday, March 27 for a special presentation with Assistant Professor of Theology, Allison Gray, Ph.D. This presentation will take place in conjunction with a regular class meeting for New Testament Themes: Miracles and Power. Members of the campus community are invited to join the conversation about how the stories of ancient goddesses can inspire women to speak up and claim power.
